Near winter
Days are too short and the rain that's in the offing will soon turn to snow or ice and take all the predictability out of scheduling. No hockey means darn few sports since college football is over in essence. College b-ball is starting to roll, but ... Christmas... pretty soon they'll be having black Friday on Labor Day-- it's the American way. And it's a full moon-- everyone is depressed (not cuz of the moon) over job or life or health or money--how soon can I retire?

Friday
Four day week. Thank goodness. Possibly four next week, 4 1/2 the week after, suffer through a five dayer, then 4 for Abe/George b-days.
Winter offers little except time to watch hockey. College basketball has become worthless thanks to the hapless Pete Gillen. The great recruiter hasn't recruited so great, has managed to turn his best player into his 7th man, turned his best first year player with skills into his 8th man... and it's entirely possible the Hoos have won their last game of the season. Sure, it's possible we can get FSU down in Tallahassee (Carolina couldn't!!!!) or Clemson in the woods of SC, or maybe State in Charlottesville. Otherwise, I see L after L.
Strat draft two weeks from today. Best two days of the year.
